Caulaincourt is proud to unveil an exclusive creation: the white loafer born from a unique collaboration with Paul de Lanouvelle.
This design marks the launch of a new and original concept imagined by Caulaincourt’s founder, Alexis Lafont: “Cartes Blanches”.
Rather than partnering with a brand, the idea is to invite a personality to co-create a shoe — to offer a blank canvas to someone whose aesthetic universe resonates deeply with Caulaincourt’s own values and vision.
For this first edition, Paul de Lanouvelle was invited to co-design a pair of shoes. As the founder of a Champagne house that bears his name, Paul perfectly embodies the spirit we wanted to celebrate through this Carte Blanche.
As Alexis Lafont explains:
“Paul is the founder of a Champagne house that bears his name, and to us, he represents a new generation of French art de vivre — blending a passion for travel, a love of the arts, and a distinct sense of style.”
A collaboration with Paul felt not only natural — it felt essential.
The White Loafer
The result of this collaboration is a white deer leather loafer, exceptionally supple and fully unlined. Designed with warmer days in mind, it blends a refined sport-chic look with unmatched lightness and comfort.
The absence of lining places the foot directly against the leather, offering a sensation of pure freedom and second-skin softness — a rare level of comfort, both technical and sensory. The structure also allows for fluid movement, making it ideal for summer.
Aesthetically, the loafer pays tribute to the timeless visual world of Plein Soleil, the 1960 classic starring Alain Delon. It evokes that effortless, sun-drenched Riviera elegance — laid-back, yet sharply defined.
It’s a piece made for summer wardrobes: perfect with light-toned tailoring, for weekends by the coast, or simply for those who walk with ease and dress with intention.
